The release date has not been announced yet, but early information indicates a start ready for 2012, given that the 5 Series in hybrid version will start next year.Thus, besides the hybrid versions of 7 Series and X6, BMW will have at least two versions of hybrid models in the range in the next two years. The two models will inherit the hybrid technology directly from the the 7 Series and X6, but will use it more efficient through reduced mass of the 3 Series and 5 Series models, the last of these being already announced as a full hybrid.
